Park Authority to Upgrade Dirt Path to Trail in Dead Run SV

What used to be a dirt path will soon benefit from bond funded improvements.  The Fairfax County Park Authority will begin construction of 1,150 linear feet of asphalt, multi-use trail in the Dead Run Stream Valley Park.  The trail, an existing dirt path, connects Churchill Road to Ingleside Avenue.

Park Authority staff and the contractor, Southern Asphalt Company, will begin mobilizing on site within the next few weeks.  Construction will begin this month and, depending on the weather, is expected to be complete by early spring.  Construction access to the site will be from the planned trail connections.

Residents should expect occasional construction vehicle traffic, with flagmen onsite to maintain traffic safety.  In addition, construction equipment will be present on the trail during construction.  As a safety precaution, portions of the existing dirt path trail will be intermittently closed to users during the project.  This project is funded through Park bond funds.
