participate in the
S’more Wagon Ride and Campfire Series at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park. Participants ages

the hour-long program.
Enjoy a nice evening wagon ride through the Rocky Run Stream Valley. Learn about the park and keep an eye and ear out for the local wildlife. Discover who Ellanor C. Lawrence was and find out other aspects of the areas local and natural history. Return to a warming campfire and make a sweet chocolate treat to eat. Something different may be seen each time in this series of campfire wagon rides.
The cost is $7 per person for Fairfax County residents. The park is located at 5040 Walney Road in Chantilly.
Mill Races
On Saturday, January 19 at 10 a.m. race paper boats in the very
same stream that used to power the mill just down the road from E.C. Lawrence Park. Equivalent to 40
horsepower, Cabell’s
Mill was able to produce 2,000 bushels of cornmeal and was an
operational mill until 1916. Get a sneak peak of the building over 200
years old and discover the races and other traces of Cabell’s Mill. Learn
a bit about the history of this mill, how mills worked, and finish with a
boat race in Rocky Run stream.
The program meets at Cabell's Mill. Please be sure to register an adult with your child. Cabell's Mill is located at 5235 Walney Road in Centreville. Participants ages seven and older are welcome and the cost is $5 per person.
