Think About Summer Fun Right Now!
It may be cold outside
but warmer days are just around the corner and many parents are already
busy planning for the summer break. With the right planning your child’s
time off from school can be a time of fun in the sun, daily adventures,
developing new skills or making new friends. Parents have the chance to
create a summer journey kids are sure to remember. The Fairfax County
Park Authority has a wide variety of camps for children of all ages.
With locations throughout the community, parents can find affordable
programs conveniently located near offices or the home. Most importantly,
kids get the chance to be kids and to participate in camps that foster
creativity, enhance skill sets, increase self-esteem and promote
teamwork.
With more than 1,300 camp options, parents can easily fill their child’s summer with unique experiences each week. Consider trying out a sports camp or dabble in the performing arts. Perhaps science and technology pique your child’s curiosity? Maybe they want to learn to play chess? No matter what the interest, camp experiences offer children of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels, the chance to build confidence and make new friends.
Camp registration gets underway this week for spring break and summer camps. For more information and to register, go online and click on the CAMPS icon or call the registration line, open week days 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 703-222-4664.
