Look For Green Signs of Spring at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park

 The first signs of spring are beginning to emerge at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park. Mantises and leaf hoppers are moving through the forests, and skunk cabbage is bursting through the forest floor. On March 17, 2013, the public is invited to celebrate the approach of the spring equinox and all things green around a campfire in the park at 7 p.m. The fee is $5 per person.

In recognition of Saint Patrick's Day, participants are invited to wear their favorite green gear. The group will venture into the meadow to search for signs of springs with the help of a naturalist. Warm up by the fire and toast marshmallows afterward. This program meets at Cabell's Mill, which is located at 5235 Walney Road in Centreville, Va.
