Wildlife Wednesdays Return to Hidden Pond Nature Center
Wildlife Wednesdays are back for the spring season at Hidden Pond Nature Center, and they're new, fresh, and more fun than ever! Children ages three to six years old will conduct exciting science experiments and participate in activities from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays in March. They'll learn the hows and whys of the park and its inhabitants, and learn the answers to questions such as how do trees get turned into paper and why do leaves change color?
The cost for each session is $6 per child. Registration is available online. Programs are diverse and offer a new look at the natural world.
March 13: Trees
If we can't see trees breathing, how do we know that they're alive? How
does a tree get made into paper? Discover everything about how trees
work: how they grow, how their leaves change color, how they help us, and
even how to make your own paper.
March 20: The Five Senses
Why can some animals see at night? How do sounds travel? Learn the
answers to these questions, in addition to investigating the other senses
as well. Ever made "oobleck"? We'll be using it to discuss
different textures. Ever seen "oobleck" dance? Come to the
program and you will! A snack will be served.
March 27: Reptiles & Amphibians
How are they different? How are they the same? Find out what it's like
to live the life of a lizard, a turtle, a salamander, a toad, or a frog,
and even get to meet some of the live animals we have at the nature
center.
