Six Fairfax County Parks to Host Egg Hunts


Egg Hunts

The arrival of spring means the Easter bunny isn't far behind. With six different parks hosting egg hunts and related activities, kids have plenty of opportunities to fill their baskets. See the list below.

Saturday, March 16: Easter Egg Hunt at Sully Historic Site
Children ages two to seven years old bring your baskets and hunt for Easter eggs. Participate in an egg roll, visit baby animals and make a craft. Egg hunts are at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per child. The rain date is 3/23. To register, call 703-437-1794.

Saturday, March 23: Easter Egg Hunt at Colvin Run Mill
Colvin Run Mill Historic Site is hosting three Easter egg hunts. Each hunt lasts 45 minutes. Children ages two to three start at 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Four and five-year-olds start at 10:45 a.m.  Six to eight-year-olds start at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $6 per child. Register online. Sunday March 24 and Saturday, March 30: Dinosaur Egg Hunt at Hidden Oaks
Three to seven-year-olds enjoy a dinosaur-themed program and outdoor egg hunt while visiting dinoland in Nature Playce at Hidden Oaks Nature Center. Make a dino craft. Register online for one of three times: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., 2 to 3 p.m. or 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.  The cost is $6 per child. For details call 703-941-1065.

Saturday, March 30: Easter Egg Hunt at Nottoway Park
Visit with the Easter bunny and hunt for candy, toys and eggs filled with treats at Nottoway Park. Start times are: 10:30 a.m. for ages one and two; 11 a.m. for ages three and four; 11:30 a.m. for ages five and six; and noon for ages seven through nine. Bring your own basket. Walk-in registration starts 9:30 a.m. (cash only). A weather decision will be made at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $8 per person. For information, please call 703-324-8566.

Saturday, March 30: Easter Egg Hunt at G.W. RECenter
George Washington RECenter will host an Easter egg Hunt Saturday, March 30 at 10 a.m.  The hunt will be on the field behind the RECenter.  There will be 2,000 candy-filled eggs hidden around the field.  The cost is $3 per child.  Age groups will be three years old and under, four to six years old, and seven years old and over.  No pre-registration is required.  Please bring a basket for collecting eggs. For more information, please call 703-780-8894.

Saturday, March 30: Eggstravaganza at South Run RECenter
Hunt for Easter eggs at South Run RECenter's Eggstravaganza! Other activities include photos with the Easter bunny, face painting, arts and crafts, and field games. This program for children ages one to eight years old will be held in the field house and is offered from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to noon.  The cost is $10 per child; children under one year old are admitted free.  Walk-ins will not be accepted.  To register, please call 703-866-0566.
