Boat Rental Season Opens Early at Riverbend Park
Riverbend
Park is a popular place for family and friends to enjoy the
outdoors. This year, due to low water and warm spring weather, visitors
can rent boats two weeks earlier than normal. Row boats, canoes and
kayaks (single and tandem) will be available Saturday, May 5 to
Friday, May 18 on weekends only from noon to 5 p.m. Boats will
be available Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
after that. Visitors may explore the river on their own, or on a guided
tour.
Fishing opportunities abound for the young angler to the experienced vet. Spinning tackle, fly fishing, and fishing from a boat are great ways to catch most species. During visitor center hours fully rigged fishing rods are available to rent. A freshwater Maryland or Virginia fishing license is required for all fisherman.
Boats may be rented for half-day or full day excursions. Single kayaks are $15/$25. Tandem siton- top kayaks are $25/$35. Canoes are $18/$36. Row boats are $15/$25.
