Search For Natural Treasures in Your Own Backyard
It seems like an endless search for
natural fun and adventure for the whole family. Why not start the search
by looking in your own backyard? You’ll find great tips for wildlife and
family-friendly
backyards in a new brochure published by the Fairfax County Park
Authority. The Family Backyard brochure is filled with information about
the animals that live there, how you can contribute to the environment
and create a welcoming habitat for these creatures as well as ways for
the very young to interact with nature.
Dig in the garden just to find out what lives underground. Consider planting parsley, dill, marigolds, nasturtiums and zinnia in the garden. They are friendly to both wildlife and toddlers. Discover how outdoor play is good for your health!
