Enjoy Campfire Saturdays at Royal Lake and Lake Accotink

What better place for a campfire than on a lake?  Join Hidden Pond naturalists for excursions into the wilds of our neighborhood gems.  Explore with nets, find animals and listen for the call of the wild critters as the full moon rises and nocturnal hunters do their aerial acrobatics over the lake.  Topics this summer include reptiles and amphibians, bats, nocturnal predators, flying squirrels, owls, stargazing and more!  Programs conclude with a campfire. S'more ingredients are provided, and hot dogs are welcome. Children must be accompanied by a paid, registered adult.

Campfires will be held on Saturday evenings at Lake Accotink Park on July 19 and on Aug. 2, 16 and 30. Royal Lake will host Campfire Saturdays on June 28, July 12 and 26, and Aug. 9 and 23. All Campfire Saturday programs begin at 7:30 p.m.  The cost is $7 for county residents and $9 for out-of-county.
