The Civil War and the Uncivil Life of Spies

Rangers, Raiders and Spies, Oh My!

The Civil War pitted neighbors, friends and families against each other. That set the groundwork for an intriguing mix of war and spies, and those spies had fascinating equipment.

Hear the stories of Civil War spies, the agents of Blue and Gray, and learn about their techniques and the equipment they used to gain advantages for their causes at a program titled Rangers, Raiders and Spies, Oh My! The program begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, at Green Spring Gardens, 4603 Green Spring Road, in Alexandria, Va. The cost is $12 for Fairfax County residents and $14 for non-residents.

You’ll learn about two important Civil War spies who had close connections to Green Spring and whose undercover exploits changed the course of the war.

For more information, sneak a phone call to 703-642-5173 or quietly slip online.
