Ryan Shupe & The Rubberband Shines in Braddock Nights Concert Series

Ryan Shupe & The Rubberband Shines in Braddock Nights Concert Series

Listen to a unique, new sound from county/rock/bluegrass group Ryan Shupe & the Rubberband, as part of the Braddock Nights Concert Series. This free concert will be held Friday, July 18, 2014 at Royal Lake Park. The one-hour performance will begin at 7:30 p.m.

After being in bands that were constantly breaking up, lead singer Ryan Shupe came up with the concept of “rubber band” – it would be elastic in members being able to rotate in and out without breaking a groove. Since forming in the mid-1990s, the group has produced seven albums, had two songs used in a soundtrack for motion picture “God’s Army” and one song hitting the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.

The group plays a diverse set of instruments to fit their original sound including the fiddle, ukulele, banjo, guitar, mandolin, and bouzouki. Their energetic, fist-pumping performances showcase their musicianship, tight harmonies, and upbeat, optimistic lyrics.

Royal Lake Park is located at 5344 Gainsborough Drive in Fairfax, Va.

The Summer Entertainment Series is made possible by the Fairfax County Park Authority, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, the Fairfax County Park Foundation and generous contributions from local businesses and corporate sponsors.
