C.J. Chenier’s Zydeco Sounds Come to Hunter Mill Nights

C.J. Chenier’sC.J. Chenier, son of the “King of Zydeco” Clifton Chenier, has taken his father’s experience and pushed it to new heights with a Creole sound that is sure to put a smile on your face. On Thursday, August 8, 2013, C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band will bring the bayou to a free one-hour concert at Frying Pan Farm Park, in Herndon, Va. The show will run from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Drawing off the roots of his family’s Louisiana music, C.J. Chenier has brought Zydeco music into the future. By infusing traditional Creole music with blues, funk, R&B and country, he has been nominated for a Grammy and met with rave reviews everywhere he performs. A powerful accordion meets harmonious vocals, backed up by the Red Hot Louisiana Band to brighten up both well-played songs and rich originals.

Frying Pan Farm Park is located at 2709 West Ox Road in Herndon.
