New Workshop Explores Lives of American Girls With Dolls

Nottoway Park Hunter HouseThe story of girls growing up in America is an interesting one and one that may help young girls make sense of the present. On Thursday, January 30, 2014, the Fairfax County Park Authority is offering All-American Girl: Time Travelers, a new workshop at which girls ages six to nine will learn about the most interesting eras in history through play with dolls. The full-day workshop runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Hunter House in Nottoway Park and provides parents with a safe, structured activity on the Fairfax County Public School’s teacher workday. The cost is $80 per child.

Participants will practice the life skills girls needed in the past and relate them to the world in which they live now. Girls will have fun with their dolls while bringing these times to life with activities, crafts, themed games, and a formal tea program in a beautiful historic setting. Participants must bring their own lunch. Download camp forms.
