Our aquatic fitness classes offer stress-free exercise, working the major muscle groups and the cardiovascular and respiratory systems in one single workout. Because of water surrounding the body, resisting every move, muscle workouts are balanced and as intense as a person chooses to make them. Aqua fitness is recommended for all age and fitness levels because it provides a great workout while putting minimal stress on the body. Furthermore, because of the manner in which muscles work against the water’s resistance, participants tend not to become sore after working out.
Aqua fitness is safe for everyone, whether you are a senior suffering from advanced arthritis or a dedicated tri-athlete using water for cross-training purposes. One can participate in shallow or deep water aqua fitness classes, where the body remains in an upright position, or one can swim laps where the body is prone.
