Children’s Corner Our Children's Corner programs for babies and preschoolers encourage the growth of creativity, coordination and social skills. Small group interaction and individualized development are stressed, but the major emphasis is always on FUN! Check for current listings. This licensed preschool program provides a safe and nurturing environment where children grow emotionally, socially and intellectually through developmentally appropriate experiences. The program recognizes children as unique individuals who deserve the right to be treated equally with fair and consistent limits. We believe children learn best through play; therefore, children are provided with hands-on activities that enhance learning, promote independence and foster a positive self-image. Activities include arts and crafts, circle time, activity centers, songs, creative movement, indoor/outdoor play, dramatic play, water play and more, incorporated into a theme-based curriculum. Registration is ongoing, depending on available space. Please call the site’s program office for information and openings. Program operates Sept-June. All children must be of appropriate age by the first day of preschool and be potty trained. Individual sites will provide details on specific activities and curriculum. A physical exam and immunization record are required. We follow Fairfax County's holiday schedule and Fairfax County Public Schools' inclement weather schedule. All emergency and administrative forms must be completed and on file before children start the program. Proof of child's identity (birth certificate, passport, etc.) must be shown on the first day.
