Safe, relaxing and fun! Bring extra clothes, water, snacks, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and shoes that can get wet. Meet at the Fort Washington Marina at Fort Washington, Maryland. Must sign release of liability on site. Adult guardian must accompany youths under 16 years old. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class start time. Fee includes all equipment. Classroom-based USPS Boating CourseImprove your basic boating skills. Learn about safe boat handling and seamanship, rules of the road, lines, knots, charts, aids to navigation, weather, marine radio, and much more! USPS Boating Course provides certificate (with personal watercraft endorsement) recognized by state boating authorities. Supply fee $39 (cash or check) payable to Northern Virginia Power Squadron due at first class. Youth ages 14-15 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Check for current listings. Group Canoeing OrientationOne three-hour session covering basic survival swim test in a pool, use of personal flotation device (PFD) and safety skills.
