George Washington RECenter has a heated indoor 25 meter pool with a poolside spa, beach and wading area, saunas, showers and fully equipped locker rooms.
The fitness area includes two treadmills, recumbent and stationary bicycles. This completely accessible facility (curb cuts, dressing stalls, pool ramp) also features newly resurfaced lighted tennis courts and a picnic area.
Directions: George Washington RECenter can be reached by taking Beltway Exit 177A which is Richmond Highway or Route 1 south and then turning left on Route 235 which is Mount Vernon Highway. At the fork in the road bear right onto Route 623 which is Old Mount Vernon Highway. The park entrance is on the right.

George Washington RECenter – Aquatics
George Washington RECenter has a 10 lane, 25-yard, heated pool with a pair of one meter diving boards. The little facility across from Mt. Vernon high school offers a handicap accessible beach area with zero depth entry and shallow water play area.

Aerobic Water Exercise and Deep Water Exercise
Our Aerobic Water Exercise and Deep Water Exercise classes can provide a high intensity, low impact, full body workout for athletes looking for a cross-training alternative or the means to get challenging exercise while recovering from an injury. Water exercise is also a great way to begin working toward improved fitness. And for people with arthritis, water exercise is the solution to maintaining the mobility that keeps pain and stiffness at bay. Isn't it time you take the plunge?
Professionally trained lifeguards oversee all natatorium activities. We are proud to be associated with Ellis & Associates (E & A), an aquatic safety consulting firm that provides the National Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard Training Program (NPWLTP). Licensed lifeguards maintain high standards with constant training and practice.
George Washington RECenter – Fitness
While George Washington RECenter does not have a conventional weight/exercise room; we do have two treadmills, a stair-stepper, and a stationary bicycle machine in the main lobby. There is also a TV to watch while working out or relaxing after a nice swim. Locker rooms with showers, sauna and private dressing stalls are available.

A security deposit is required on every rental. The security deposit can be paid by check (which is held and returned to you after doing a walk-through following your party) or by credit card if credit card number is on the contract. Rental rooms must be cleaned up and vacated by the time specified on your contract. (Example: A rental scheduled from 4:00 – 5:30 must be vacated by 5:30) If the room is not vacated by the contracted time, a charge for the additional time will accrue in half hour increments.
Chairs and Tables
Up to 20 chairs and 5 tables are provided with your rental. Extra chairs and tables are available at $2.50 per table and $.75 per chair.
Room Rental Party Options
As part of your party, you can use the pool. In addition to your room rental price, you will need to pay the General Admission fee for each participant. For groups of 12 or more, you will be charged the group rate, which is 25% off the regular price. Adults who want to go down to the pool, but not in the pool, can pay the chaperone fee of $1.50.
Party rental hours are limited to Saturdays: Noon – 6:00pm and Sundays: 1 – 6:00pm.
Responsibility for Personal Items
If you are swimming before your scheduled room time, you will be responsible for securing your gifts and party accessories. Our front desk cannot be responsible for holding presents, balloons, food, etc. If you want to arrive early to decorate or store your belongings, it is suggested that you rent your room for the extra time needed.
