Oak Marr AquaticsRegister through Parktakes Online for these exciting, fun-filled programs!
The Oak Marr RECenter has an Olympic-size heated indoor pool with 1 and 3 meter springboards, 3 and 5 meter platforms, a 2,300 sq. ft. beach and wading area, a 3,300 sq. ft. outdoor sundeck, saunas, locker rooms with private showers, a family changing room, and a bleacher seating capacity of 225. Fairfax County Park Authority RECenter pools have something for everybody! Our comprehensive programs promote safety, skill development, fitness, social interaction and fun. Various user groups share pool space. FCPA and Fairfax County Public Schools share the commitment for hosting the high school swim and dive teams for practice and meets November through February. Nationally ranked swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, and water polo teams also rent space for practice and meets. The Park Authority strives to maintain a standard of at least three lap lanes available to the public whenever the pool is open. Please check the pool calendar for specific daily pool hours. The calendar will also indicate the rare instances that availability falls below the three lane standard. A zero-depth "beach" area provides access to shallow (3 1/2 ft.) play space.
Super Slide and Diving Boards On weekends we add excitement to the deep end with open diving boards and an inflatable slide or fun run. Check the pool calendar for specific times for each day. All participants must pass an ability testto swim the length of the pool (25 yards) in deep water. A lifeguard supervises this test. Flotation devices may not be used for the swim test or on the slide or diving board. See complete Pool Rules. Pool Calendar For monthly updates to Super Slide and diving board availability, and for pool hours of operation, refer to the Oak Marr RECenter Pool Calendar. Our Lifeguards Professionally trained lifeguards oversee all natatorium activities. We are proud to be associated with Ellis & Associates (E & A), an aquatic safety consulting firm that provides the National Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard Training Program (NPWLTP). Licensed lifeguards maintain high standards with constant training and practice.
