Private Swimming Lessons

Welcome & thank you for your interest in Oak Marr RECenter�s Private Swim Lesson Program!

To better accommodate our customer needs, Oak Marr RECenter will be implementing new private swim lesson program procedures beginning February 4, 2013. For more information and pricing, please read on.

Availability and Booking a Private Lesson

Private lessons will now be booked up to 1-week in advance.� Customers may call 1 week ahead to schedule a private lesson for the following week; each week starts on a Monday.� Therefore, lessons occurring February 4-10th can be booked the previous week starting on Monday, January 28th.
We recommend 30 minute lessons for children ages 4-13; 60 minute lessons are available for those 13 & older at an advanced swimming level.

Children under the age of 4 are encouraged to register for group swim lessons.

At the time of booking, customers must have at least 1 private lesson on their account for each lesson they are scheduling.
At the time of booking your lesson, we will ask you to indicate the participant�s swimming ability (afraid of the water, beginner, intermediate, or advanced). Please ask our Front Desk for definitions of ability levels.
Your requested day booked?� We will create a waiting list on days when schedules fill. A member of our staff will contact our customers in the order they appear on the waiting list if a space becomes available.
We apologize for any inconvenience, but we do not schedule private swim lessons beyond the established scheduled times or more than 1 week in advance.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations require 48 hours notice.� For illness, 6 hours minimum advance notice is required and a doctor�s note may be requested.
We apologize, but for cancellations or missed appointments made less than 48 hours in advance not due to illness, a private lesson will be charged to the customer�s account per lesson cancelled.
Private lessons will follow the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) inclement weather policy. If FCPS closes, lessons scheduled for that timeframe will also be cancelled.
If the FCPA (Oak Marr RECenter) cancels, the instructor, if on site, should contact the customer(s) affected.� We will attempt to rebook customers in a later time slot/offering if one is available. However, due to the nature of the blocked scheduling, it may not be possible to reschedule for the same day. Customers will not be charged if there is a vacancy later in the schedule, but the time is not convenient.
