Showmoblie Reservation Information
The Fairfax County Park Authority's Park Services Division is responsible for operation and support of the County Showmobile program. The showmobile is a mobile stage, available for rental for various outdoor events in the County. There are two showmobiles available.
The Showmobile is available to the following groups and organizations:
- Group A: Fairfax County Government departments, Fairfax County Public Schools, Little League, Scouts, Civic Associations and other Fairfax County based non-profit organizations (proof of non-profit status must be provided.)
- Group B: Fairfax County based businesses and organizations that do not meet Group A criteria.
- Group C: Events sponsored by non-Fairfax County individuals or organizations. Other than those identified in Group A or B above.
DESCRIPTION OF SHOWMOBILE
The Showmobile is a portable stage 32 feet long. The floor space size is 23 feet wide by 24 feet deep. Additional 4 foot stage extensions are available upon request. It is a self-contained unit with fluorescent lights, 30 folding chairs, and a podium. An extension cord may be plugged into any 110 volt outlet for sufficient electrical supply. A portable generator (30 amps and 115 volts) is available if no outlet is accessible. The height of the back wall is 6 feet 6 inches. The two doors on the back wall are 28 inches wide and 6 feet 2-1/2 inches high. There are two sets of steps with handrails. The Showmobile is accessible for the disabled. An operator is provided with the Showmobile and will remain with the unit during its entire use.
INFORMATION ABOUT SHOWMOBILE USAGE
Prior to the date requested, the operator will contact the user concerning arrangements and to exchange telephone numbers in case of inclement weather. Showmobile users must provide two people to assist the County staff with assembly and disassembly of the unit. If no help is provided by the user, there may be delays. USAGE FEE CHARGES
Group A – Fairfax County Government, Fairfax County Public Schools, Little League, Scouts, Civic Associations, and other non-profit organizations based in Fairfax County.
Organizations whose function is to present candidates for local or state elected office also fall within this category. Usage fees are not charged to Group-A Showmobile users.
Group B – All Businesses, Organizations, and Groups whose mailing address or functions are based in Fairfax County which do not qualify for Group-A consideration.
A fee of $750 will be charged for the first 8 hours or less of use. An additional $65 per hour will be charged for use that exceeds the first 8 hours. Charges are computed from the time the Showmobile leaves County property (warehouse) until the unit is returned. All fee payments are NON-REFUNDABLE.
Group C – Events sponsored by Non-Fairfax County Individuals or Organizations, other than those identified in Groups A and B above, within County Limits.
A fee of $1400 will be charged for the first 8 hours or less of use. An additional $175 per hour will be charged for use that exceeds the first 8 hours. Charges are computed from the time the Showmobile leaves County property (warehouse) until the unit is returned. All fee payments are NON-REFUNDABLE.
