Help Take Back the Forest

Help us Take Back the Forest

A t-shirt design contest sponsored by the Fairfax County Park Authority

Next spring there will be a HUGE push to control invasive species in Fairfax County parks & Take Back the Forest.  Over 500 volunteers will work to remove invasive plants, replant native plants, and restore local forests back to health.  All volunteers will get a free t-shirt.

We invite young artists from Fairfax County (ages 12-18) to design artwork for a t-shirt that captures our theme of Take Back the Forest.  We are open to your creativity and ideas!  A panel of judges will select the winning design from the pool of contest entries.

The winner will receive a $50.00 gift certificate to REI and a t-shirt displaying their design.

Entries are due before 5pm on January 20th, 2014.  Late entries will not be accepted.

Artwork will not be returned. We are not responsible for lost, misdirected or late entries.

Photos of plants and additional information about invasive species can be found online.

The Park Authority reserves the right to modify the winning design to make it acceptable for screen printing.  The winner may be required to provide the original file to the Park Authority for ease of transfer and/or editing during the printing process.  The Park Authority, REI, and IMA logos will appear on the t-shirt alongside the winning artwork (see below for samples).
