Scouting Programs Prepaid reservations are required for all scout programs. Call 703-759-9018 to register. Riverbend Park's Zen bridge Our quaint bridge over the small zen pond is a great staging area for your bridging ceremony. With an expansive picnic area along the Potomac River, there is lots of space for your troop, parents, and more! Using the bridge is free and but reservations are recommended. Park Hours: 7am-dusk, daily +Denotes program meets all requirements for badge. Riverbend patch available for $3.15/scout. If the scheduled programs are not convenient you may arrange weekday badge programs for groups of 12 or more. Limited availability.  Call Riverbend at 703-759-9018. Reservations and advance payment required. $7, Riverbend patch available for $3.15/scout Girl Scout Astronomy Festival Saturday, December 12 (Brownies and Junior Girl Scouts), 5:30-7:30pm, Riverbend Visitor Center, 703-759-9018. View outer space through a telescope, listen to ancient stories about the constellations 'round the campfire, take a guided tour of the night sky, and participate in hands-on activities. This year's festival is scheduled near the peak of the Geminid meteor shower. Brownies and Juniors complete the badge requirements for the Space Explorer and Sky Search badges. Teen scout volunteers welcome. $6/scout, $6/siblings, $3/adult, Riverbend patch available for $3.15/scout Animal Vets Monday, December 14 (Scouts, 7-12 yrs.), 3-4pm, Riverbend Park Nature Center, 703-759-9018. Go "behind the scenes" and help care for our exhibit animals. On this special day, you'll take the animal's vital signs and check their health.
