Park Authority Seeks Comment on Draft FY 2014 - 2018 Strategic Plan
The Fairfax County Park Authority is seeking public comment and response to the Draft FY 2014 - 2018 Strategic Plan. The plan, developed internally over the past two years, reflects the challenges faced by the Park Authority during these austere economic times, focuses on the diverse and growing needs of the near future, and seeks to outline the strategic vision that when adopted by the Park Authority Board will provide guidance and direction to meet agency goals.
Focus areas include the management and protection of property, optimization of park programs, fostering and promoting natural and cultural resources through adoption of stewardship values and ethos, encouraging healthy lifestyles, promoting technological advances within the agency, as well as expanded communication efforts and community engagement initiatives. The broadly based plan serves to communicate key strategic objectives to stakeholders, partners and the community at large.
Between now and June 2, 2013, we ask you to review the document and let us know your thoughts. Let us know if you like our plan or if we need to re-evaluate some key objectives or visions. This plan must reflect the community’s image of what a nationally-accredited, top-ranked park system should be.
We ask you to review the draft plan and share your thoughts via the feedback form, or if you prefer via email at parkmail@fairfaxcounty.gov. For more information, call Debbie Babcock-Daley, Strategic Initiatives Manager at 703-324-8665.
