Saturday, June 9
A Propensity to Dig
No reservation required 10:30am-2:30pm $7adult, $6/
student, $5/senior and child
(All ages) Visit Sully Historic Site and the garden
of Richard Bland Lee, Northern Virginia’s first
Congressman, and learn about plants and their uses
in the Federal Era. While many plants were grown
for daily sustenance and commerce, others were
the basis for medicinal uses as well as decorative
elements in the house. Hear about Mrs. Lee and her
propensity to dig, and her brother, Zaccheus, a merchant
and noted botanist in Philadelphia. Guided
tour included.

Antique Car Show
No reservations required. 10am-3:30pm. $9/adult,
$8/senior, $7/child
Celebrate Father’s Day at Sully’s Annual Antique
Car Show co-sponsored by FCPA and The Model A
Ford Club of America. More than 400 antique and
classic cars fill the grounds. Buy the car of your
dreams at the car corral or search for the perfect
accessory in the flea market. Treat your dad to a delicious
lunch and get your toes tapping to the music
of Jumpin’ Jupiter. Tour of the first floor of the 1794
house included.

Fun Facts, Games and Trivia for the 4th
No reservation required noon-3pm $7/adult, $6/student, $5/
senior & child
(5 yrs. and older) Political trivia, games and fun
facts help visitors rediscover the Declaration of
Independence and other early American history.
Fridays: July 6 & 20 August 10 & 24
Dairy Days
Reservations suggested 1-4pm $5/person
(5 yrs. and older) Churn butter, crank ice cream
and play historic games for a taste of 18th century
life. Ice cream and butter made at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and
3 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult
Saturday - Sunday, July 14 - 15
World War II Living History
10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. Travel back to the World War II era as Sully Historic Site hosts Allied and Axis re-enactors for a weekend of demonstrations, memories, and music. Get an up-close look at what life was like for soldiers and civilians throughout the war and talk to them about their jobs, living quarters, food and life in the 1940s. House tour included. Free for veterans and active duty. $8/adult, $6/senior and child.
Saturday, August 11
The Home-Grown Medicine Chest
No reservation required 1, 2, or 3pm $7/adult, $6/student,
$5/senior & child
(5 yrs. and older) Medical care in the 1700s and
1800s was very different from the way it is today.
Tour Sully’s garden, 18th century kitchen and
house and learn how home remedies were prepared
and used. Replaces regular house tour.
Saturday - Sunday, August 18 - 19
Civil War Encampment Weekend
10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. Union and Confederate troops recreate Civil War daily life as re-enactors demonstrate the varied work of the army. Skirmishes each day include infantry, artillery and cavalry. Visit the weekend encampment and discover a soldier’s lifestyle during this turbulent time in America’s history. Enjoy live music and a fashion show. House tour includes artifacts rarely on exhibit belonging to the Haight family, mid-19th century residents at Sully historic site. $9/adult, $7/senior and child.
