Civil War Encampment Weekend
Saturday, 10am-4pm. Sunday, 10am-3pm. Federal and Confederate troops recreate Civil War daily life as re-enactors demonstrate the varied work of the army. Skirmishes each day include infantry, artillery and cavalry. Visit the weekend encampment and discover a soldier’s lifestyle during this turbulent time in America’s history. Enjoy live music and a fashion show. House tour includes artifacts rarely on exhibit belonging to the Haight family, mid-19th century residents at Sully. $7/adult, $5/senior and child or two day ticket $12/adult, $8/senior and child

Early American Craft Creations
1-4pm. Weave, twirl, twist and shape your way into the past! Have fun making historic crafts as you rotate to various stations. Please arrive no later than 3pm for activities. Pre-paid reservations required at least one week in advance. $10
Friday, August 20 and Friday, August 27
Dairy Days - Ice Cream Making and Butter Churning
1, 2, or 3pm. Discover the whey of the Dairy! Churn butter, crank ice cream and play historic games for a taste of 18th century life. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations suggested. $5, tour cost separate

Sully Quilt and Fiber Arts Show and Sale, 10am-4:30pm
Vendors assemble on the grounds of the 1794 home of Richard Bland Lee at our 37th annual fall event to show and sell new and antique quilts, other fiber arts, quilt-related merchandise, antique linens, antique sewing tools, books and fabric. Northern Virginia Quilters Unlimited members provide quilting demonstrations and lectures. Hayfield Country Quilters provide a beautiful door prize quilt. Show includes children’s activities, quilt appraisals, quilted door prize, and food. Rain or shine. House tour included. $9/adult, $8/senior, $6/child
Saturday, September 25
Making Light at Sully, 1-3pm
Light regulates daily life on a farm. Learn how light was used by the Lee family and by the African-American slaves in the outbuildings. Make a candle and keep warm with cider and cookies. $4
Sunday, September 26
Countryside Wagon Ride, 1-1:45pm
Enjoy a tractor-drawn wagon ride to learn about 19th century farm life and agriculture. Some walking to off-trail sites. Canceled if inclement weather. $6
