Trout Fishing Program at Lake Accotink Park and Lake Fairfax Park - Weekly stocking will alternate between the two parks.

Local Lakefront Parks Lure Trout Anglers

Cast your line and catch your limit at local lakefront parks where the Fairfax County Park Authority operates the annual Spring Trout Fishing Program during the months of February through April. Come out and join other fishing fanatics—and first timers—for the excitement of catch-and-keep fishin' fun along the banks of Lake Accotink dam and  stream and at Lake Fairfax.

Weekly stocking will alternate between the two parks, with the first stocking of 1,000 pounds of farm-raised, safe-to-eat rainbow trout taking place on Friday, February 6, 2009 at Lake Accotink Park. The first trout stocking at Lake Fairfax Park takes place one week later on Friday, February 13, 2009. Trout fishing begins on Friday, February 6 at Lake Accotink and at Lake Fairfax on Friday, February 13, 2009. The last stocking of the season is scheduled for April 10 at Lake Fairfax Park.  The trout fishing program ends at both parks on April 19, 2009. Both parks allow fishing from 7 a.m. until dusk.
