Trout Fishing


Rainbow Trout

The spring trout season at Lake Fairfax Park will commence on Friday, February 15, 2013 with a stocking of 1,000 pounds of Rainbow Trout. This is the first of five spring stockings which will be followed by stockings on March 1st, March 15th, March 29th and April 12th. Our supplier will be delivering 1,000 pounds of Rainbow Trout (with a few occasional Golden Trout mixed in throughout the season) for each stocking at approximately mid-day and stocking the lake.

ALL stocked trout will be of legal size and as in the past, YOU may be the lucky angler to catch one of the few 16” – 19” trout that have been stocked.

Lake Fairfax Park Season Trout passes for 2013 will be available for purchase at the Main Office and will be valid for the entire calendar year. Season or Daily Passes must be displayed at all times when fishing.

Season Trout Pass – (Adult 16-64) $60.00
Season Trout Pass – Senior (65+) $45.00
Season Trout Pass – Child   (6-15) $30.00
Season Trout Pass – Replace $5.00
   
2013 DAILY Pass Trout Fees
 
Daily Trout Pass - Adult (16-64) $15.00
Daily Tout Pass - Senior (65+) $10.00
Daily Trout Pass - Child  (6-15) $7.50

Daily Trout PASSES are required for those who do not possess a 2013 SEASON Trout Pass.

ALL fishermen at Lake Fairfax must adhere to the following regulations:

  • Passes must be displayed at all times
  • Six fish daily limit per person
  • One line, one pole per person
  • A Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF) state issued freshwater fishing license is required for fishermen ages 16 and older
  • A Virginia state trout stamp is not required
  • Fishing is only permitted while the park is open, dawn to dusk.
