Huntley Meadows Park

Nature DiscoveryHuntley Meadows Park, a 1,425-acre wildlife sanctuary in southern Alexandria, includes mature forest, meadows, and a large freshwater wetland. It is one of the most popular birding spots in Northern Virginia. A one-half mile boardwalk winds through a wetland abounding with lizard's tail, cardinal flower and rose mallow. Beavers are often seen as evening approaches. An observation tower allows a commanding view of the wetland and its abundant wildlife.
