Volunteer at Cub Run RECenter

Our volunteers tell us that volunteering at Cub Run RECenter is a rewarding experience. Volunteers not only help our community but they also earn FREE membership at the RECenter where they volunteer. Volunteers can forge friendships and meet customers and co-workers who share their interests. They learn more about all the wonderful parks and facilities that Fairfax County has to offer. We hope you will decide to join us; we are looking forward to working with you.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Delores Buckley
Cub Run RECenter’s
2012 Outstanding Volunteer
of the Year

Delores goes out of her way to make all our customers at Cub Run RECenter feel welcome. She always greets each patron with a smile and is eager to help. Delores also trains our new front desk volunteers which requires a lot of time and detail on her part and she does this without hesitation. She is always thorough and our new volunteers love working with her. Delores is a wonderful communicator and enjoys visiting with the youngsters who stop by the front desk. A recent comment we received from one of our customers stated "Delores is so helpful, kind and so amazing. Such character is hard to find in life, but I found it at the check-in counter at Cub Run RECenter with Delores."

Delores has been nominated for "Volunteer of the Month" at Cub Run RECenter and has received a STARS gold coin for outstanding customer service. In addition, she has been nominated for the "Volunteer Fairfax Service Awards," and received the "Presidential Service Award," for completing 500 hours of volunteer service.

Delores's expedites our customers through the check-in process and answers the phones without missing a beat. Her customer service skills are top notch.

In her own words.....
"I look forward to seeing the regular customers who come thru the door on Sunday mornings at Cub Run. I like to think I make their day a little brighter with some friendly conversation."
