Employment opportunities at the park include:
Lifeguards
Our lifeguards are licensed through the International Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard training program. Applicants must be at least 15 years of age at the start of the course. (Training opportunities provided.)
Duties include:
- Respond to aquatics rescues (in water and on land)
- Provide immediate first aid treatment to guests in distress
- Maintain skills at a "test ready" level at all times
- Participate in regularly scheduled in-service trainings
- Provide exceptional customer service
- General cleaning duties
Prerequisites for the lifeguard course:
- Swim 100 yards without resting using crawl or breaststroke
- Retrieve 10 pound dive brick from depth of 8 ft. (or deepest of facility)
- Tread water without using arms for 1 minute
Head Lifeguard/Supervisor
Head Lifeguards and the Pool Supervisor are in place to help the lifeguard staff perform at their best level. Applicants must hold a current International Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard Training Program License and Pool Operator Certificate. This position requires a flexible schedule which may include early morning or late evening hours.
Duties include:
- Supervise scheduled lifeguard staff
- Complete and document water chemistry results
- Respond to customer service inquires
- Enforce health department and park authority regulations
- Assist with in-service training
- Assist with maintaining balanced pool water and filtration system
- During lifeguard shortages, will be required to fill vacant shifts
Front Desk Staff
Front desk staff work in a fast paced environment while greeting our guests with a smile.
Duties include:
- Process transactions for admission
- Inspect coolers for prohibited items
- Issue wristbands to guests
- Welcome groups and assist was their entrance
- Sell ice cream on pool deck
- Safely operate our antique carousel
- Assist with weather related closings
- Help keep line traffic following
Main Office
Office staff provide support to the administrative staff and general customer service to park patrons.
Duties include:
- Process season pass sales
- Sell tickets for boat rentals and carousel rides
- Administrative duties (answering phones, filing, ect…)
- Provide general information to patrons
Campstore
Lake Fairfax Park is home to 136 camping sites. The camp store staff ensure that our guests have a relaxing and smooth outdoor experience.
Duties include:
- Check-in guests
- Process reservations
- Sell basic camping essentials
- Conduct routine checks of camp ground
- Report rule violations to management
- General administrative duties
Boat House
The lake is our most beautiful attribute here at the park. Daily paddle boat and canoe rentals are available. Boat house staff coordinate all marina activity. Staff will receive training in Basic Water Safety.
Duties include:
- Distribute life jackets to all patrons
- Ensure compliance with local boating laws
- Assist in emergency weather related closings
- Perform guided tours on lake
