From the rustic life at Dranesville Tavern to the life of the privileged class at Stone Mansion, the historic properties under the stewardship of the Fairfax County Park Authority, Resource Management Division offer a unique representation of early life in Fairfax County. Several of these historic properties are available for special events. The facilities operated by Historic Properties Rental Services are suitable for all types of corporate activities, as well as social gatherings.

  • All sites may be rented 364 days a year, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 am to 11 pm, and Friday through Sunday, 7:30 am to midnight. Hours for functions at Wakefield Chapel and Clark House vary from the schedule. Sites close at 6 pm on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
  • Reservations are taken up to one year in advance.
  • Preview appointments are made in advance. Feel free to bring your caterer or rental company representative with you.
  • A refundable $400 security/clean-up deposit is required at the time a contract is signed.
  • A $150 Alcohol Use Permit fee is charged if alcohol will be served at the facility. All alcohol must be served indoors and consumed within the designated rental area.
  • Equipment available includes audio-visual equipment, tables, chairs, coffee urns and candle lanterns.
  • Canopy tents are permitted at Cabell's Mill, Dranesville Tavern, Hunter House, and Stone Mansion. All tent usage regulations apply. Please contact our staff for details.
  • Special discounts are available when renting more than one site.
