ABOUT THE OFFICE OF
PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS
Our Mission
Our mission is to catalyze public private partnerships that
address
community issues impacting quality of life in the County.
We will always work to enforce, support, and uphold the the Fairfax County Vision elements as we continue to improve the quality of life in the County.
Our Operating Principals
- We seek to build strategic alliances in which all parties have a vested interest from the beginning.
- We initiate opportunities within the community to create effective partnerships.
- We will continuously ensure that the partnerships we deploy meet the changing needs and expectations of our customers and the community.
- Strategies to build partnerships will be embedded in research and best practice information to become a knowledge-rich learning organization.
- We deliver service excellence through all our products, processes and services.
Our Roles
Catalyze | Convene | Facilitate | Train
Catalyze
Work with customers and community to identify emerging issues and
stimulate interest to meet community needs (businesses, faith
communities, individual citizens and other non-governmental
organizations) and implement necessary taskforce and processes to
accomplish partnership objective.
Convene
Process leads, bringing together issue advocates and partners that have
resources best fit to address community needs; Collectively address
issues identified by developing workable solutions that leverage tax
payer resources; and maximize County organizational capacity.
Facilitate
Identify issues collectively with partners; Understand the vision of
individual partners to meet a particular community issue; Use experience,
best practices and strategic planning to guide and lead group of partners
toward a common goal.
Train
Develop competence in operating as a partnership to implement projects,
programs and strategies that address community needs; Teach staff in
other departments how to develop public-private partnerships; Train
partners on how partnerships work; Provide technical expertise needed to
make a partnership work.
