FAIRFAX,
Va. The Herndon Friends Meeting, a faith-based group in Herndon, Va., is now accepting orders for "star"
ornaments, with the proceeds benefiting the Medical Care for Children Partnership (MCCP). The cost per ornament
is $15. The goal is to raise $25,000.
Herndon Friends Meeting have produced and sold holiday ornaments to benefit MCCP since 1999. Designed to
symbolize light and hope, the ornaments depict inclusive symbols of light, such as this year's star design, as
well as more abstract renderings based on original interpretations by Northern Virginia artists.
Through a special arrangement with a local manufacturer, Herndon Friends Meeting is able to fabricate a
large quantity of ornaments, with net proceeds going to MCCP.
Both large- and small-quantity orders are welcome. Herndon Friends Meeting guarantees delivery before
Thanksgiving for orders placed by Oct. 31. Orders placed after Oct. 31 will be filled as quickly as
possible.
To place an order, use the printable online form (PDF) and mail it to Margaret Fisher,
Herndon Friends Ornament Project, 6805 Glencove Drive, Clifton, VA 20124. Make checks payable to Herndon
Friends Meeting.
