the following presentations:

The Board recognized the delegation from Ivanovo State Power
Engineering University, Russia for signing a memorandum of
understanding to collaborate with Northern Virginia Community
College.

Best Workplaces for
Commuters presented certificates to Fairfax County, Booz Allen
Hamilton, SAIC, George Mason University, Inova Fairfax Hospital,
Orange Business Services, National Wildlife Federation, the
AeroSpace Corporation, ICF International (Fairfax) and Inova
Alexandria Hospital for offering large-scale trip reduction
programs to employees.

The Board recognized gymnastics coach Michael Cooper for his
induction into the Virginia High School Hall of Fame.

The Board recognized Henry Latimer for his years of service
on the Human Services Council.

The Board recognized George Lovelace for his years of service to
Fairfax County and the Town of Vienna.

The Board designated Dec. 1, as AIDS
Awareness Day in Fairfax County.

The Board recognized the delegation from Ivanovo State Power

The Environmental Quality Advisory Council presented their 2010 Annual Report on the
Environment.

The Board approved J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and Citigroup Global
Markets Inc. to serve as senior managing underwriters on the fixed rate
Dulles Rail Phase I
Transportation Improvement District Bonds Series 2011

The Board approved a project agreement for FCDOT to accept funding from
VDOT for the Sully Civil War Cycle Tour.

The Board approved the annual adjustment to road fund contribution
rates in the Fairfax Center, Centreville and Tysons Corner areas.

The Board initiated the process for the 2011 redistricting of the
election districts of the Board of Supervisors.

The Board approved service changes to Fairfax Connector bus routes
effective at the end of November.

The Board adopted amendments to the county code and the public
facilities manual related to the conservation of trees during the land
development process.
-
The Board adopted a zoning ordinance amendment to revise the filing fee
for an appeal of a determination of the zoning administrator or of a
proffered condition from $2,455 to an amount of $600, effective
November 17.
- The Board held a public hearing to receive comment on the proposed legislative program to be presented to the 2011 Virginia General Assembly. The proposed Legislative Program and Human Services Issue Paper are available online. This program will be on the Board’s agenda for adoption at the Dec. 7 meeting.
