County Farmers Markets, which have been in existence for more
than 30 years.

Staff of the Audrey Moore
RECenter who were instrumental in saving the life of a county
resident.

Tawny Hammond, president of the Springfield Civic Association, for
her ongoing efforts for people with disabilities, who are members
of the association, to fully participate in matters of safety,
quality of life and home values.

The Fairfax County Department of Transportation, the sponsor and
the bicycling community for promoting Bike to Work Day as an
effective means to improve air quality, reduce traffic congestion
and promote wellness.

June 2-5 as Springfield Days in Fairfax County.

The Volunteer Fire Commission presented its annual report.

The Board authorized the County Executive to execute a grant agreement
with the EPA for a Norman M. Cole Jr. Pollution Control Plant Water
Reuse project.

The Board endorsed an application for a proposed Safe Routes to School
project application to be submitted to the Commonwealth Transportation
Board for FY 2012 funding.
- The Board adopted Election Year Policies for the 2011 Board of Supervisors election; the policies will commence on Aug. 31, 2011.
