The Fairfax County Public Library Summer Reading Program continues
encouraging children and teens to read for pleasure during summer
vacation. It is held in cooperation with the Fairfax County Public School system and

Tune in to Channel 16 for live gavel-to-gavel coverage, including
presentations and public hearings, of the Fairfax County Board of
Supervisors meetings, which are also closed captioned. Channel 16,

“County Magazine,” “Parks Plus,” the “Fire and Rescue Digest” and “On the
Beat,” in addition to special programs throughout the year on topics such
as emergency preparedness, energy efficiency, history, consumer

contractors may now apply online through FIDO, the Fairfax Inspections Database Online at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/fido. If you can’t or don’t want
to spend time waiting in line, FIDO can help, and the county will be able
to issue more permits — and issue them more quickly. On the FIDO Web
page, simply click on "Apply for a Permit” for a household appliance
permit, residential electrical or plumbing permit or a finished basement
building permit. Payment is accepted using major credit cards and
