There was a presentation on “Ending Homelessness
in the Fairfax-Falls Church Community” by the Chairman of the
Governing Board of the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Partnership to
Prevent and End Homelessness, Michael L. O’Reilly.
- On Feb. 28, Fairfax County Executive Anthony H. Griffin presented his proposed budget for FY 2013 to the Board. Today, the Board authorized advertisement of a public hearing to advertise the FY 2013 County budget and the tax rates that are proposed to support the FY 2013 budget. The Board authorized advertisement of a real estate tax rate for FY 2013 of $1.08 per $100 of assessed value. The current FY 2012 rate is $1.07. A separate public hearing on the effective tax rate will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 3:30 p.m. in the Fairfax County Government Center Board Auditorium, as required by Virginia Code. In addition, public hearings on the FY 2013 budget, the advertised capital improvement plan (CIP) and proposed tax rates for tax year 2012 have been set for Tuesday, April 10, at 6 p.m., and Wednesday and Thursday, April 11-12, at 3 p.m. also at the Fairfax County Government Center Board Auditorium. The formal adoption of the budget by the Board of Supervisors is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 1, at 10:30 a.m. during the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting.
