Visit the Fairfax County Animal Shelter this summer to take advantage of adoption promotions. For the remainder of July, celebrate ExtravaCATza! with half-off adoption fees on all cats and kittens. Spay or neuter, vaccines, a collar and a personalized tag are all included in the fee. If you adopt a senior cat, you will also receive a bag of goodies for your new best friend. Then in August, come be part of “Sunshine and Shelter Dogs,” a monthlong promotion to get available dogs and puppies out of the shelter and into the sun. Dog and puppy adoption fees are just $20. There are lots of special events happening, like doggie pool parties, dog-lovers volunteer orientations and shelter dog enrichment classes open to volunteers and the public.
