Long before European settlers arrived on the shores of Virginia, the Native Americans lived in harmony with nature. The Fairfax County Park Authority invites you to spend a day exploring Indian lore and crafts, storytelling, dancing and culture at the Virginia Indian Festival, Saturday, Sept. 8th, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Riverbend Park in Great Falls. The festival will be held rain or shine. Cost is $8 per person, with children two and under free.

Fairfax County will host its sixth annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony immediately following the morning session of the Board of Supervisors’ regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, Sept. 10th, at approximately noon. The ceremony will take place at the 9/11 Memorial Grove located on the grounds of the Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax. Those attending should gather by 11:45 a.m. in the Forum of the Government Center. The Fairfax County Public Safety Honor Guard will then lead a procession to the 9/11 Memorial Grove.
