Milk a goat, shell corn, peel apples and meet animals. Paint a small pumpkin, play farm games and see traditional farm demonstrations on Farm Harvest Day at Kidwell Farms, Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10-3 p.m., at Frying Pan Farm Park, 2709 West Ox Road, Herndon.
Kidwell Farm is Frying Pan Farm Park’s working demonstration farm. It preserves a piece of Fairfax County's rural heritage as it recreates the era of 1920-1950, when family dairy farms blanketed the landscape. Take a wagon ride, or watch the farm hands at work. At the Kidwell Farm House, you can sit on the porch or take a tour to see how farm families lived in the 1930s.
The cost is $5 per person. For more information, call 703-437-9101.
