Enjoy holiday shopping in a relaxed unhurried atmosphere. Instead of heading for the crowded mall, take a trip back in time at any of these Fairfax County Park Authority historic sites: Sully, Colvin Run Mill, and Frying Pan Farm Park. Each of these sites will offer special shopping hours for December 1st – 3rd. For more information call 703-324-8700.
Experience the magic of the park after dark. Join members of the Lake Accotink Park staff on November 24 for a nighttime hike from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. You will learn about the nocturnal activities of forest residents. Dress for the weather and bring a flashlight. The cost is $5 per adult and $3 for children under 16 years. Reservations and prepayment required. The hike is suited for children ages seven and older. And finally, make your own holiday ornaments at Riverbend Park November 24-December 31.Teasels, pine cones and walnuts add up to make some cool holiday ornaments. Bring your imagination and create some stylish or wacky items or follow some of our examples. The Center is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, and Wednesday through Friday; noon to 4 p.m. on weekends.
