ANNOUNCEMENTS

The sobriety checkpoint planned for Saturday night, October 12, in the Fair Oaks Police District, was canceled due to weather conditions.

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

PURSUIT, Route 28/Westfields Boulevard, 10/12/13, 2:10 a.m. Police officer attempted to stop a 2004 Cadillac for traffic violations on northbound Route 28. The vehicle sped off and the officer pursued. On Metrotech Drive, the officer performed the precision immobilization technique and stopped the vehicle. Charles Johnson, 33, of Herndon was charged with DWI, suspended driving license and speed to elude.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 5740 block of Telegraph Road, 10/11/13, 12:27 a.m. Police responded to an alarm and found a store had been burglarized and cash had been taken.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 8000 block of Cottage Street, 10/11/13, 6:45 p.m. A resident reported an unknown man walked into the home but left immediately when he saw someone in the home. Forced entry was made through a door. Nothing was taken. The suspect was described as about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and wearing a dark hoodie.

2000 block of Chain Bridge Road, 2011 Buick Regal

MASON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY, 5625 Columbia Pike, 10/11/13, 12:24 p.m. Three men entered the pharmacy and one displayed a gun. The suspects took cash and drugs and assaulted two store employees. The victims sustained a non-life threatening injury. The suspects were described as black males wearing ski masks, hooded jackets and blue jeans.

7400 block of Parkwood Court, bicycle from residence

3700 block of Woodland Circle, firearms from residence

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

Man Arrested for Inappropriately Touching a Child

LARCENIES FROM VEHICLES, 2000 block of Lakebreeze Way, 10/14/13, 1:30 p.m. Police responded for reports of vehicle tampering and located four vehicles that were entered and property taken. Two teen males were caught and will be charged with larceny.

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

3000 block of High Tower Place, medication from residence

13900 block of Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, liquor from business

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

ANIMAL CRUELTY, Sully Road/Dulles Toll Road, 10/12/13, 10 a.m. Animal Control Officer responded for a report of a dog being thrown from a moving vehicle. The officer took custody of the Chihuahua mix and transported it to a local veterinary clinic. The suspect vehicle was described as a four door black sedan.
