DIRECTED PATROL, 12/31/13. Officers from the Mason Police District patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. One driver was charged with DWI. Ten summonses and fourteen warnings were issued.

ROBBERY, 3400 block of Anker Street, 1/1/14, 5:30 p.m. The victim was walking in a wooded area when five men approached him. One suspect assaulted the victim and took an electronic device. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. The suspects were described as black males.

4000 block of Buckman Road, Mitsubishi Mirage
ROBBERY, 2800 block of Graham Road, 12/31/13, 3:14 p.m. The victim was walking when two suspects in a vehicle approached him. One suspect grabbed property from the victim and both suspects fled in the vehicle. The victim was not injured and provided a description of the vehicle to police. A police officer spotted the vehicle and stopped it on Backlick Road near Fullerton Road, where both suspects were taken into custody. Gary Terrell Ford II, 18, of Lorton was charged with robbery. A 16-year-old Lorton boy will also face charges.

ROBBERY, 5500 block of Seminary Road, 1/1/14, 9 p.m. The victim was walking in a parking garage when she was approached by two suspects. One suspect attempted to take her purse but the victim resisted. Both suspects then fled and the victim was not injured. The suspects were described as males.

BURGLARY, 2500 block of Polly Jefferson Way, 1/1/14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

5500 block of Harrington Falls Lane, 2013 Nissan Altima
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 7600 block of Old Keene Mill Road, 12/31/13. Responding to a suspicious person call, a police officer found a man dancing in the roadway. When the officer attempted to make contact with the man, he attacked the officer with a stick. As the officer attempted to take the man into custody, several citizens came to the officer’s aid. The officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Joshua Tastaca, 20, of Annandale, was charged with assault on a police officer. Charges for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, interfering with traffic and playing in the roadway are pending.
