Police Daily Blotter March 18, 2014

Home Invasion Robbery in the Annandale Area

 

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

DIRECTED PATROL, 3/14/14. Officers from the McLean Police District patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. No drivers were charged with DWI. Four summonses and thirteen warnings were issued.

DIRECTED PATROL, 3/14/14. Officers from the Franconia Police District patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. Two drivers were charged with DWI. Fifteen summonses and twenty-eight warnings were issued.

DIRECTED PATROL, 3/14/14. Officers from the Criminal Justice Academy patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. Six drivers were charged with DWI. Twenty-four summonses and twenty-five warnings were issued.

DIRECTED PATROL, 3/15/14. Officers from the McLean Police District patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. No drivers were charged with DWI. Two summonses and ten warnings were issued.

DIRECTED PATROL, 3/15/14. Officers from the Fair Oaks Police District patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. No drivers were charged with DWI. Twenty-one summonses and eight warnings were issued.

CHECKPOINT, Route 50 (West Bound) at Annandale Road, 3/15/14. Officers conducted a DWI checkpoint searching for drunk drivers. Eight hundred and eleven vehicles passed through. Five drivers were charged with DWI.

 

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

TRESSPASSING, 7000 block of Clifton Road, 3/15/14, 10:54 a.m. Police responded to an alarm at an elementary school. Upon arrival, police discovered two juveniles who had entered the building through an unsecured window. Nothing was taken and nothing was damaged. The two juveniles were released to their parents with charges forthcoming.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 7700 block of Stone Wheat Court, 3/15/14, 12:42 a.m. A resident reported an unknown man walked into the home but then left immediately. Nothing was taken.

WEAPON VIOLATION, 2700 block of Mennifield Court, 3/16/14, 01:16 a.m. Several individuals were drinking inside a private residence when two people went outside and began arguing. A third individual also exited and apparently discharged his handgun into the air in an attempt to break-up the argument. This individual then accidentally shot himself in the leg and was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. John Touch, 32, of Richmond, Virginia, was charged with reckless handling of a firearm and discharging a firearm within 100 feet of a school.

ROBBERY, Janna Lee Avenue/Richmond Highway, 3/17/14, 1:02 p.m. The victim was at a bus-stop when she was approached by a man displaying a handgun. The suspect grabbed her purse and fled on foot. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as black, 20s, and about 6 feet tall.

ROBBERY, Lawrence Street/Russell Road, 3/17/14, 1:38 p.m. The victim was walking when she was approached from behind by a man. The suspect displayed a handgun and took her purse. There were no injuries.  The suspect was described as black, 20s, and about 6 feet tall. Police are investigating the possibility that this case is related to the above.

BURGLARY, 5200 block of Montgomery Street, 3/15/14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 8100 block of Pasture Rose Court, 3/14/14. A woman was walking when a man exposed himself.  The suspect was described as black, 17-29, and about 5 feet 9 inches tall.
