ANNOUNCEMENTS

Police have launched a new crime mapping tool. It is designed to help users better understand where police are responding, and offers users a general description of the incident. Simply log on to

type the address of the location, and all police-related events within a specific radius will populate the screen. Information is, typically, a day behind real-time events.

BURGLARY, 8300 block of Richmond Highway, 4/2/14. An employee reported someone entered the business and took property.

6300 block of Richmond Highway, cell phone from business

 

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

8400 block of Berea Drive, items from vehicle

6700 block of Curran Street, license plate from vehicle

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

1700 block of Business Center Drive, purse from business

900 block of Locust Street, electronic devices from location

 

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY, 5500 block of Backlick Road, 03/31/14, 11:50 p.m. The suspect entered a fast-food restaurant and demanded cash. The suspect assaulted an employee, took cash and then fled in a vehicle. A responding officer spotted the vehicle and pursued it to Interstate 495, where it crashed. Ericka Lynn Jenkins Miller, 32, of Flint Hill, Virginia, was charged with robbery.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 7600 block of Allman Drive, 4/2/14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

5700 block of Burke Centre Parkway, merchandise from business

8700 block of Center Road, ring from residence
