Police Daily Blotter June 9, 2014

ANNOUNCEMENTS

To celebrate the completion of a major expansion of the facility, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony and dedication of the “Thor” Canine Memorial at the Fair Oaks District Station on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 10 a.m. The ceremony will occur at the front entrance of the building.

 

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

DIRECTED PATROL, 6/6/14. Officers from the Operational Support Bureau patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. One driver was charged with DWI. Twenty-seven summonses were issued.

DIRECTED PATROL, 6/6/14. Officers from the Reston Police District patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. No drivers were charged with DWI. Ten summonses and eleven warnings were issued.

DIRECTED PATROL, 6/7/14. Officers from the Operational Support Bureau patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. Two drivers were charged with DWI. Thirty summonses were issued.

BURGLARY, 14500 block of Golden Oak Road, 6/6/14. A resident reported someone entered the apartment and took property.

BURGLARY, 5400 block of Calamint Court, 6/6/14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

BURGLARY, 14800 block of Rydell Road, 6/7/14. A resident reported someone entered the apartment and took property.

BURGLARY, 13600 block of Bent Tree Circle, 6/8/14. An employee reported someone entered the business and took property.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 3800 block of Birchwood Road, 6/6/14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

ROBBERY, 6100 block of Willston Drive, 6/7/14, 2 a.m. Two men were walking when they were approached by a suspect. The suspect demanded money and began assaulting both men with a belt. Both men fled but were able to flag down a passing police officer. The officer located the suspect and took him into custody. The victims did not require rescue. Helio Bautista Santos, 37, of Falls Church, was charged with robbery, malicious wounding, assault and drunk in public.

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

ANIMAL/RABIES, 4400 block of Cortez Drive (Fair Oaks District Station), 6/4/14, 11:16 a.m. An Animal Control Officer was called for a report of a raccoon that had contact with two dogs. The officer collected the dead raccoon, which subsequently tested positive for rabies. Both dogs were quarantined.
