Police Daily Blotter July 15, 2014

ANNOUNCEMENTS

There will be a child safety seat check at the Sully Police District Station on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 5 p.m.to 8:30 p.m. This free service is on a first come, first serve basis as only the first thirty five vehicles will be inspected so we can ensure proper training.

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

CHECKPOINT, Fairfax County Parkway/North Walnut Branch Road, 7/12/14. Officers conducted a DWI checkpoint searching for drunk drivers. Six hundred and eighteen vehicles passed through. Five drivers were charged with DWI. Six summonses were issued.

 

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 4200 block of Airline Parkway, 7/14/14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

BURGLARY, 14500 block of Iberia Circle, 7/14/14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

LARCENIES:

13000 block of Fair Lakes Shopping Center, cell phone from business

5500 block of Sully Park Drive, bicycle from school

 

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 7500 block of Republic Court, 7/14/14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

LARCENIES:

2300 block of Fairview Terrace, documents from vehicle

8400 block of Frye Road, beverage from business

 

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY, 6600 block of Arlington Boulevard, 7/14/14, 6:38 p.m. Two men entered the Route 50 Gold & Jewelry Exchange, located at 6670 Arlington Boulevard, and displayed handguns to an employee. The suspects took cash and merchandise and then fled. There were no injuries. The suspects were described as black males wearing dark clothing and masks.

7700 block of Random Run Lane, airbags and steering wheel from vehicle

8100 block of Strawberry Lane, license plates from vehicle

2900 block of Wickersham Way, GPS from vehicle

STOLEN VEHICLES:

7700 block of Random Run Lane, 2006 Suzuki motorcycle

 

MASON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY, 6200 block of Little River Turnpike, 7/13/14, 3:19 p.m. A man entered a gas station and displayed a knife to an employee. The suspect took cash and fled. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as black, 40s, about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall.

LARCENIES:

4300 block of Backlick Road, purse from vehicle

5700 block of Hanover Avenue, wallet from vehicle

6300 block of Springfield Plaza, wallet from business

STOLEN VEHICLES:

6600 block of Baclick Road, 2014 Chevrolet Captiva

9500 block of Hagel Circle, 2000 Toyota Tacoma

 

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 4500 block of Commons Drive, 7/14/14. A resident reported someone entered the apartment and took property.

LARCENIES:

9500 block of Old Creek Drive, package from residence

7500 block of Reservation Drive, credit cards from vehicle

9000 block of Teddy Rae Court, license plate from vehicle

 

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

900 block of Dave’s Farm Drive, laptop computer from business

13700 block of MerryBrook Court, items from residence

STOLEN VEHICLES:

12100 block of Green Leaf Court, 2000 Mercedes Grand Marquis
