Daily Activity Report


This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

DAILY ARRESTS FOR SELECTED CHARGES

Domestic violence-related charges: 4

Illegal drug-related charges: 2

DWI-related charges: 4

MOTOR CARRIER SAFETY INSPECTION, 4/2/13, Officers from the Motor Carrier Safety Section along with several other jurisdictions conducted safety checks on 21 vehicles. Eight trucks were taken out of service. Sixty-eight violations were found.

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

5800 block of Ausable Way, gun from residence

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 6700 block of Tower Drive, 4/2/13, 6:15 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include jewelry. There were no signs of forced entry.

ASSAULT, 7100 block of Fairchild Drive, 4/2/13, 10:20 p.m. Officers were called for a fight. An investigation revealed this was due to a possible larceny of a phone earlier in the day. The 20-year-old victim received non life-threatening injuries. The suspects, a 22-year-old and a 17-year-old, have been identified.

ROBBERY, 7100 block of Groveton Gardens Road, 4/2/13, 7:15 p.m. A 15-year-old was walking home when he was approached by three individuals. One of them brandished a knife and demanded his headphones. They fled leaving behind the headphones.

6200 block of North Kings Highway, razors from business

3400 block of Blue Mallard Landing, license plate from vehicle

8300 block of Claremont Woods Drive, cell phone from jacket

STOLEN VEHICLES:

4200 block of Main Street, 2003 Ford Taurus

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY, Lee Highway/Windsor Drive, 4/2/13, 10:40 p.m. A 16-year-old was walking on the sidewalk when a man stepped out of a vehicle, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. The suspect fled with the victim’s wallet. The suspect was described as a light skinned man wearing a ski mask and grey sweater.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

3700 block of Larchmont Drive, wheels/tires from vehicle

6500 block of Columbia Pike, GPS from vehicle

5700 block of Leesburg Pike, cell phone/credit cards from business

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

1600 block of Reston Parkway, mulch from business

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

DWI, 7200 block of Braddock Road, 4/2/13, 12:45 a.m. An officer initiated a traffic stop for a traffic violation. The vehicle allegedly made several turns to avoid the officer but eventually stopped. Paola Perrochon, 25, of Burke, was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, speeding, and driving with a rejected safety inspection.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

4200 block of John Marr Drive, purse from business

8600 block of Morning Star Court, rifle from residence

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 4200 block of Hunt Club Circle, 4/2/13, 8:45 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include jewelry. There were no signs of forced entry.

11000 block of Lee Highway, cell phone from business

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

ANIMAL BITE, 7200 block of Hooes Road, 4/2/13, 9 a.m. A 16-year-old reported that on 4/1/13 at 7 p.m. she was bitten by a dog. The victim was playing basketball and fell near the dog. The dog was described as big and skinny, all white with brown spots. The case is under investigation.

ANIMAL BITE, 13600 block of Roger Mack Court, 4/2/13, 12:30 p.m. A 67-year-old reported he was bitten on the leg by a dog while walking in his driveway. The dog owner, Mariana Barros, 18, of Chantilly, was charged with no dog license. The Papillion mix was routinely quarantined.
