Daily Activity Report

This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

DIRECTED PATROL, 4/6/13. Officers from the Fair Oaks Police District searched the area for impaired drivers. Two drivers were charged with DWI. Ten summonses and 25 warnings were issued.


BURGLARY, 14200 block of Heritage Crossing Lane, 4/6/13, 2:10 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include a passport. There were no signs of forced entry.

LARCENY, 6300 block of Richmond Highway, 4/5/13, 6:45 p.m. Officers were called by a Loss Prevention officer about a shoplifting that was allegedly occurring. Patricia Hill, 59, of Shipman, VA, was charged with petit larceny third offense, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and possession of burglarious tools. Two children, ages 9 and 10, in Hill’s care were taken by another family member.

NARCOTICS, 7900 block of Silverada Place, 4/5/13, 11:25 p.m. Officers were called for a suspicious person. Following an investigation, James Turner, 43, of Alexandria, was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, and being drunk in public.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 8500 block of Richmond Highway, 4/6/13, 9:15 p.m. A 25-year-old man was walking up to the building to visit a friend. Another resident allegedly became upset and cut the victim. The victim was transported with non life-threatening injuries. Javen Kiernan, 33, of Alexandria, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding.

ASSAULT, 6700 Radcliffe Drive, 4/7/13, 3:30 a.m. A 28-year-old man was walking home when two men attacked him. They struck him several times and fled. Nothing was stolen, and the victim refused any medical treatment.

GRAFFITI, 8000 block of Prichards Court, 4/5/13, 1:45 p.m. A resident reported someone wrote letters and numbers on a highway partition. The owner has been notified to remove the graffiti.

ROBBERY, 7500 block of Leesburg Pike, 4/6/13, 2:15 a.m. A 26-year-old reported he was approached by two men who brandished a handgun and demanded his wallet. They fled with the wallet. The victim was not injured. Both suspects were described as male and Hispanic. They were wearing hoodies and had their faces covered.

BURGLARY, 2900 block of Covington Square Way, 4/6/13, 10:40 p.m. A resident reported someone entered and stole a cell phone. Entry was made through an open rear door.

BURGLARY, 6500 block of Anna Maria Court, 4/6/13, 10:50 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole a power tool. Forced entry was made through a rear window.

BURGLARY, 3400 block of Monarch Lane, 4/5/13, 5:45 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole jewelry. Forced entry was made through the front door.

BURGLARY, 7000 block of Brookfield Plaza, 4/7/13, 4 a.m. Officers responded for an alarm call and found the front door to the business open. Employees responded and confirmed several items were stolen. Following an investigation, Pedro Santiago, 37, of Springfield, was charged with burglary and larceny.

GRAFFITI, 9500 block of Main Street, 4/6/13, 10:40 a.m. An employee reported spray painted words on the building. The owner has been notified to remove the graffiti.

FALSE PRETENSE, 13800 block of Metrotech Drive, 4/3/13, 10:35 a.m. Officers were called for a suspicious person. When they arrived, they observed a loss prevention officer running through the parking lot. Several officers responded and located three suspects. Willie Worsley, 60, of Washington, DC, was charged with forgery, possession of a fictitious operator’s license, use of an identification document to avoid a summons/arrest, and illegal tint. Henry Welch, 44, of Washington, DC, was charged with larceny by false pretense and grand larceny. Stephen Thomas, 36, of no fixed address, was charged with larceny by false pretense.

PURSUIT, Brandy Station Road/Stringfellow Road, 4/5/13, 7:20 p.m. An officer attempted to make a traffic stop on two motorcycles allegedly speeding. One rider continued to speed away and the other eventually stopped. Shane Hannegan, 34, of Reston, was charged with reckless driving.

ASSAULT, 2500 block of Coulter Lane, 4/6/13, 11:40 p.m. Officer responded for domestic dispute. Allegedly a woman in the driveway was causing a disruption in the neighborhood. Mary Noori, 44, of Herndon, was charged with disorderly conduct, assault on a police officer, and resisting arrest.

ASSAULT, 12200 block of Pender Creek Circle, 4/7/13, 5 a.m. A 22-year-old was towing a vehicle from the property when a friend of the vehicle owner stopped him. An argument between the two led to the suspect throwing a tow strap at the tow-truck operator.

SUSPICIOUS DEATH, 12600 block of Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, 4/7/13, 12:15 p.m. Detectives are assisting in an investigation involving a fire. Go to http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/fr/news/2013archive/2013_37.htm for information reference the fire.

ANIMAL BITE/ASSAULT ON OFFICER, 5600 block of Rocky Run Drive, 4/7/13, 11 a.m. A 53-year-old reported she was bitten on the leg by a dog. Animal Control Officers responded to investigate. When they spoke with owner, Charles Hackney, 48, of Centreville, he allegedly became belligerent. Hackney was charged with two counts of unlicensed dog, withholding rabies information, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and attempting to escape without force. The Beagle was routinely quarantined.
