Daily Activity Report


This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

Little Rocky Run Circle/Westwater Court, pistol/miscellaneous items from vehicle

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

BRIBERY, 8400 block of Fort Hunt Road, 4/3/13, 3:15 p.m. Angeline Nkar, 38, of Maryland, allegedly gave a school official cash in an apparent attempt to influence a personnel decision. Nkar was arrested on Monday, April 8 and charged with bribery of a school official.

BURGLARY, 1500 block of Belle View Boulevard, 4/8/13, 8 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business and stole medicines. Forced entry was made through a door.

ROBBERY, 2700 block of Arlington Drive, 4/8/13, 5:40 p.m. A 17-year-old was sitting using his friend’s phone when an unknown young man snatched the phone. The suspect walked away with the phone.

ROBBERY, 3600 block of Albee Lane, 4/8/13, 11:35 p.m. A 44-year-old was retrieving her cell phone from her vehicle when a juvenile brandished a knife and demanded her purse. The victim fled and was not injured. Several officers, the helicopter, and a K-9 team searched for the suspect. The 13-year-old suspect was located and charged with armed robbery.

LARCENIES:

7700 block of Lee Highway, money from residence

8400 block of Wesleyan Street, ring from business

STOLEN VEHICLES:

7700 block of Lisle Avenue, 1997 Chrysler Town and Country Van

MASON DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

4200 block of Cordell Street, front tires/wheels from vehicle

3700 block of Paul Street, tires/wheels from vehicle

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY, 11500 block of North Shore Drive, 4/8/13, 8:35 a.m. A 35-year-old reported he was robbed the night before by two men. The suspects approached, pushed the victim to the ground, and stole items from his pockets to include a cell phone.

GRAFFITI, 13200 block of Poener Place, 4/8/13, 9:10 p.m. A resident reported someone spray painted words on a home. The owner was notified to remove the graffiti.

PURSUIT, North Shore Drive/Wainwright Drive, 4/8/13, 10:25 p.m. An officer initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle drove away from the officer. The driver stopped on a dead end street and continued to flee on foot. The helicopter and a K-9 team assisted in searching for the suspect. The driver was identified and several charges are pending.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

SEXUAL ASSAULT, 9600 block of Hagel Circle, 4/8/13, 8:55 a.m. A 27-year-old was walking when she was assaulted. An unknown man approached and touched her inappropriately. She was not injured. This is NOT related to the Springfield Area Assaults.

SHOPLIFTING/PURSUIT, 6500 block of Frontier Drive, 4/8/13, 2:05 p.m. Officers were called for a shoplifting in progress. The suspect allegedly stole several items and ran toward the Metro station. Officers caught him in the parking garage. Jamal Goodwin, 30, of Washington, DC, was charged with grand larceny, possession of stolen property with intent to sell, and possession of burglarious tools.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, Fernedge Lane/Hagel Circle, 4/8/13, 8:05 p.m. An 18-year-old walking on the sidewalk was assaulted. An unknown man approached and touched her inappropriately. He fled when she screamed. She was not injured. This is NOT related to the Springfield Area Assaults.
