Daily Activity Report


This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY, 7200 block of Richmond Highway, 4/15/13, 2:40 p.m. A 17-year-old boy reported three black, male, teenagers approached him. They struck him several times and stole his cell phone. The victim was transported to the hospital with apparent minor injuries.

BURGLARY, 2800 block of Popkins Lane, 4/15/13, 4:45 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to included collectible trading cards. Forced entry was made through a window.

GRAFFITI, 8300 block of Brockham Drive, 4/15/13, 6:35 p.m. A resident reported letters spray painted on a power box. The owner has been notified to remove the graffiti.

LARCENIES:

5700 block of Village Green Drive, cell phone from residence

STOLEN VEHICLES:

2900 block of Furman Lane, Honda 6DR 600RR motorcycle

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

MASON DISTRICT STATION

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 4600 block of Southland Avenue, 4/15/13, 9:35 a.m. An employee reported someone entered a vacant apartment. The carpet was damaged, but there were no signs of forced entry.

GRAFFITI, 7400 block of Camp Alger Avenue, 4/15/13, 10:40 a.m. A resident reported letters were written on a foot bridge. The owner has been notified to remove the graffiti.

LARCENIES:

6200 block of Little River Turnpike, wallet from business

6200 block of Seven Corners Center, knife and pair of gloves from business

3500 block of South Jefferson Street, liquor from business

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2200 block of Castle Rock Square, 4/15/13, 7 a.m. An employee reported someone entered a vacant unit. Nothing was stolen, and forced entry was made through a window.

ROBBERY, 11600 block of North Shore Drive, 4/15/13, 10:30 p.m. A 23-year-old reported he was walking home when three unknown juveniles approached. They searched the victim, stole his cash and groceries, and fled. The victim was not injured.

2100 block of Centreville Road, five boxes of clothing from business

11500 block of Maple Ridge Road, rear license plate from vehicle

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

10700 block of Richmond Highway, copper welding lead from construction site

5400 block of Vine Street, 11 tires, chainsaw and jack hammer from vehicle

STOLEN VEHICLES:

7800 block of Stovall Court, 2003 Yamaha motorcycle

9500 block of Unity Lane, Yamaha R6 motorcycle

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

7900 block of Patriot Drive, cell phone from business

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

None reported

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

OTHER VIOLATION, 6500 block of Marston Cluster, 4/13/13, 9:15 a.m. Animal Control Officers were called for several sheep in the roadway. The four sheep were corralled and taken to the shelter. The owners have not been identified.

ANIMAL BITE, Ridge Knoll Drive/South Penderbrook Drive, 4/15/13, 9:25 a.m. A 41-year-old was walking on the side walk. He was passed by a man walking two dogs on leashes. One of the dogs, a black standard Poodle, bit the victim. The victim received minor injuries. The dog was routinely quarantined.

ANIMAL BITE, 3900 block of Bentwood Court, 4/15/13, 5:25 p.m. A 59-year-old was on the sidewalk when a dog ran at her and bit her. The victim received a minor injury. The German Shepherd/Husky mix was routinely quarantined.
